CONFORM continuous extrusion is a new extrusion technology, which can produce ultra-long wires, tubes, profiles. Through scholars'at home and abroad research and exploration, it has been applied in production and processing of copper and its alloys. However, copper continuous extrusion is a very complicated process, when adopting inappropriate process parameters and the structural dimensions of, extrusion productions could easily appear bending, cracks, filling deficiency defects, etc and tools and dies could be easily damaged. In summary, it is vital to study optimization of the technology for improving quality of production and lifetime of tools and dies.Based on the rigid-plastic / rigid viscoplastic finite element theory, the subject used Deform-3D software as the simulation tool and established a finite element model of Cu-Ag alloy forming process. Through analyzing the simulation results, this thesis revealed the metal flow deformation laws, and to study the effects of the extrusion wheel rotary velocity, the flash gap and structure of chamber (die orifice width, abutment height, the section shape of abutment etc) on the metal deformation.Simulation results showed that: extrusion temperature and torque of extrusion wheel in the stable stage obtained by the simulation accorded with the results by theoretical calculation, which indicated that simulation results had reference value; continuous extrusion process combines conventional forward extrusion in the region of flash and side direction near the extrusion die mouth, and plastic deformation mostly occurred in the extending formation stage; extrusion wheel speed on the impact extrusion process is manifested mainly the influence of temperature on the extrusion, so the selection of driving wheel velocity must be adjusted based on deformation temperature in order to facilitate uniformity of metal deformation and life improvement of tools and dies; the existence of flash gap could relieve the presence of extrusion defects and be beneficial to metal deformation and improvement of product quality, and with the gap increaseing, the plastic deformation zone increased, the metal flow turned uniform; reducing the mouth width of the extrusion die would enlarge obviously plastic deforming district, uniform metal flow velocity and reduce extrusion wheel torque; abutments with larger abutment height and longitudinal section shape as inverted trapezoid have contributed to metal extrusion forming process. According to the simulation results and analysis, combining with effects of extrusion temperature, deformation resistance in copper continuous extrusion process and the shape of final extrusion production etc, the thesis determined optimization of the extrusion process parameters and structure of the chamber. In order to uniform metal flow deformation, the paper put forward scheme of improving structure of extrusion die. These are of significant guiding roles in selection of process parameters and designing of tool and die of CONFORM continuous extrusion process.
