It is proved that the quantity of petroleum is limited in China and yet consumption of petroleum is increasing with domestic economy development, so more and more shortage of oil is satisfied with import oil. To secure the domestic oil market, most Chinese oil company carry out some measures to save oil and energy in their own oil fields. To reduce the quantity of oil and gases used for production and to expand the market of oil coke, Guangzhou Devotion Group Corporation transformed some boilers used for injection of vapor with corporation of Liaohe oil field of China National Petroleum Corporation, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and other three unites. This transformation project is listed in National Key Technology R&D Program. The topic in this paper is one branch subject of this transformation.The fact that oil coke as fuel has some characteristic of tough ignition,incompletion burning and high heat value is introduced in detail in this paper and the related combustion measure is also listed including combustion chamber with swirling,multiple injection wind and so on.A small combustion chamber is built to research the characteristic of inside flow field with different swirl number and the information of flow field is measured accurately. Besides, the accurate numerical model is built to simulate and comparative the related inside flow field and some analysis conclusion is drawn so as to verify the reliability of numerical model and to get more flow field information. Because cool flow field with is similar to that with combustion, those information got from this small cool chamber is reliable to some degree for practical combustion chamber.Besides, those related combustion condition on the basis of practical combustion chamber is simulated with different work condition. It is also simulated and analyzed in detail in this paper that the parameter of different swirl number,different pulverized particle diameter,different rate of first wind and second wind and different wind temperature has different effect on combustion. Some advice is given to guide to design and run this kind of boiler.
