In recent years, with the application and popularization of extended reach wells and horizontal wells in Shengli oil field, The friction force has been a bottleneck of the largely development of this type of wells, The question, how to improve the quality and efficiency of such wells, has encouraged the domestic and foreign experts to begin to pay attention to the friction. Based on the assumption of different theory, Experts and scholars use various methods to create the friction mathmetic model of such wells, and thus to predict the friction force of different wells in different areas. But because of the problem of the consistency between theory and reality,Their use is limited. In this paper, from the reality of actual drilling field, through the study on friction of the-same-type well which is less than 2000 meters deep in Gu Dao area of Shengli Oilfield, By the measurement of the effects of the drilling weight, rate of over-all angle change, coefficient of stratal elasticity and simulated frictional coefficient to the friction of these wells, and by using statistical multiple regression method, to establish a formula for calculating friction and thus to predict the size of the frictional resistance. From the friction model and the practical data, the well structure, the drill string structure, drill fuild and drilling parameters have been optimized, and the anti-friction tools have been initially designed. Through these anti-friction methods on Zhong 28-P506, Its effects by comparison to other wells are obvious, running casing is one time successfully without any distress signal. Study on friction in this paper can provide good guidance for drilling special directional wells and horizontal wells, and for completing wells.
