In recent years, the oil truck application is extremely common as bulk oil quality highway transportation with the rapid development of modern oil industry and petrochemical industry and country's growing demand for energy. If the fire happens for the tank which is one of major hazard installations of industry, person casualty and loss of property will occur. The oil tank fire combustion characteristic research may provides the important theory basis for the oil truck accident prevention and the control as well as the safe protection distance formulation.Through extensive research and literature review, reference and application of domestic oil tank fire in the field of theoretical and experimental results, first introduced the CFD technology and FDS software functionality and development of fire simulation FDS software in the tank's effectiveness were Summary, and carried on the theoretical analysis to the oil tank fire model as well as the radiation model.This article main basis on theoretical analysis result, hydromechanics software FDS using large eddy simulation carried on the field simulation analysis to the heptane liquefication hydrocarbon oil tank fire in the absence of wind and the wind, established oil tank fire burning physical model, carried on the dynamic simulation to the heptane liquefication hydrocarbon oil tank fire occurrence,the development and the extinguishment process on no wind and wind condition, studied the oil pot fire to have,the development and the flowing dynamic change characteristic, observed changes in combudtion characteristics of oil tank fire. The process of burning heptane has gone through three stages that obtained by the simulation results on no wind condition, stable burning phase concentrated in the 13-45s, the maximum temperature of this phase was 970℃, the heat release rate reached maximum 450kw which maintained about 40s when the tank fires burning in the 30s. The heat rate which size influences fire heat flux and haze density is the most important parameters of impacking fire development, wich play the very important role on formulates the rescue fire prevent safe distance. Tanker fires under different wind speed which numerical simulation was carried out while other conditions was unchanged, the result shows that the amount of smoke generated significantly increased, flame height,shape,temperature of the oil tank fire significantly influenced by wind speed. No change in flame shape and height when wind speed is less than 0.5m/s, the maximum temperature is higher than there's no wind, flame height and maximum temperature decreases along with wind speed increases when wind speed is greater than 0.5m/s, the tilt angle of the flame increases with the wind speed increases. When wind speed reaches a certain range, the flame height and tilt angle does not change.Based on the current study results, the software FDS simulated the thermal radiation effects on the surrounding environment. According to the thermal radiation injury,the destruction model, the oil truck accident safe distance have carried on the computation and the analysis under the fire environment.Article on the study of the process of tank fire, simulated the process of tank fire by software FDS, completed the simulation and analysis of combustion characteristics of oil tank fire, revealed the nature of oil tank fire. Article provides a series of numerical simulation method for tanker fire risk forecast under a variety of conditions, so it has a certain reference value for fire control,prevention and the determination of safety distance in the course of fire.
