In order to offer substantial foundation for the fiberboard with fewer or without glue, this disquisition has studied the influence of the xylanase treatment on the poplar fiber and the optimize ways of this treated fiber to the fiberboard. Firstly, by using the orthogonal experiment, this paper has studied the influence of the xylanase treatment on the variation of the fiber's surface wettability. And it was also studied that the poplar fiber treated by xylanase had its surface physical structure and variation of fiber surface properties with XRD, SEM and other modern analytical methods. Secondly, the temperature, pH-value and the treatment time were as main factors in orthogonal experiment, and the optimal technology was found for the xylanase treating the fiber. Thirdly, using the treated time and the xylanase dose, which had the significant influence on the poplar fiber treated by the xylanase, as the element of the univariate experience to study the influence of the xylanase treatment on the physical and mechanical properties of the fiberboard. Ultimately, in the aim to provide substantial bases of the glue-free fiberboard, it was studied that the variation of the glue spread had influence on the properties of the board made in fiber treated by the enzyme in the condition of different classifying value. The test results showed that the crystal degree of fiber treated by xylanase is higher than untreated, and the surface of fiber treated by xylanase was roughness, part peeling and groove, and its surface wettability was increase and its gluing property was improved. The orthogonal experiments also showed that the time of the enzyme treatment and enzyme dose had a significant influence on the properties of fiberboard, and the best conditions of xylanase treatment were: treated by 205IU xylanase per G of the fiber at the pH 4.8 and 50℃in 6 hours. When the form of fiber was between 20 and the 40 order, the fiber had the best physical and mechanical properties. By maintain the classifying value of fiber and treated with the xylanase, the glue spread of the fiberboard have been decreased substantially.
