Tap is one of the thread cutter tools which is used to machining internal thread, In recent years, the most material of tap is high speed steel. With new materials appeared and new technics improved, in order to improve tapping efficiency and process quality, there are some high-performance cemented carbide materials are applied to make tap gradually in abroad for the last past years. On the other hand, for the new high hardness and hardworking materials, it is feasible to utilize solid cemented carbide directly to cutting screw. Based on the three-dimensional modeling with solid cemented carbide, analyzed the structure of solid cemented carbide we can understand the intensity, stiffness, stress, strain and vibration characters and get reasonable structure of solid cemented carbide tap.This thesis is based on the theory of tapping and the characters of tap, and adopt software Solidworks and Ansys workbench to analyze the structure of solid cemented carbide. Next we should build the model of tapping torque in which we make use of the similarity with broaching thus we can get the value of main cutting force that is applied to the finite element model as load. When the solid cemented carbide three-dimension model was imported and finished the finite element analysis we can get the conclusions as follows:(1) Via static analysis, checked whether the intensity and stiffness of solid cemented carbide is satisfactory or not.(2) Via the modal analysis, calculated the natural frequency and mode of vibration,the first order natural frequency is similar to the second order natural frequency, so do the third order and the fourth order. But the third order and the fourth order is larger than the first order and the second order. The fifth order is similar to the sixth order it's larger than the third order and fourth order. While we master the natural frequency of different orders, it is benefit to avoid the sympathetic vibration and also is benefit to the spectral analysis, harmonic response analysis, transient dynamic analysis later.The finite element analysis supply well method in designing of the solid cemented carbide tap with right-hand helix, it's also able to understand different condition when the solid cemented carbide is in working.
