As the development of industry, the discharge of mountains of nutrients, such as nitrogen and phosphorus has lead to serious water eutrophication, which has been a world water pollution problem. With the economic development, China will be a high water consumption and discharge country during a long period. China is a large agricultural country. So the development of agriculture will promote the chemical fertilizer industry. However, chemical fertilizer industry is a high water consumption and pollution industry. Huge amounts of wastewater without completely treatment have been poured into natural water body. The general water quality is worse and worse. With the improvement of human's cognitive competence and the concern of life environment, nations begin to take environment problems more seriously. The wastewater treatment has to develop with economy. As enterprises, they have to reduce pollution and realize sustainable development according the development trend. On the whole, the wastewater treatment techniques have gotten rapid development, but in the application, there are more problems. The whole management is relatively poor; the disposal effects are not so good, especially for complex wastewater. So optimized management, looking for operation parameter and cost analysis are the key points in the wastewater treatment daily management.Biological nitrogen removal technique is the most popular technique nowadays. As the gradual maturity of the technique, it is widely used from easily municipal wastewater treatment to complex industry wastewater. A/O biological nitrogen removal technique is good at removal effect, and operation cost is low. On the base of on-site investigation and lab experiment, a chemical factory in Hubei province has used the process of the connection of pretreatment and A/O. The article is based on the A/O biological treatment process of a chemical fertilizer comprehensive wastewater in Hubei province. It analyzes the impacts of DO, recirculation ratio of nitrification mixture, Carbon/Nitrogen to treatment effects. It also analyzes the difficulties and weakness of the treatment process, and gets the related control parameter by experiments. The article also investigated the nitrogen removal effects under different COD and nitrogen load. It has supply some useful evidence for the similar wastewater treatment by A/O process. The article analyzes the daily operation cost, mostly power and reagents consumption, which is useful for energy saving and consumption reduction. It analyzes the rationality and effectiveness of original design and gives the solutions for the existing problems. To be honesty, the design can reach the purpose of nitrogen and COD removal if operating with reasonable conditions and coordination. In order to optimize the treatment effects, the article has advised that perfecting management, control the pollutants from source, making the pollutants in coordinated concentration and reducing the shock loading are necessary. In order to keep the denitrification effects, it is necessary to adding the carbon source when the condition of carbon leakage. Take more seriously on management, not only operation.
