Drill rode is a component of rock drill, transfers impact force and turning force to drill bit. thread extension steel bars are an important part of drill rode. processing method of rope thread extension steel bars is the research object of this paper. Common techniques of thread machining are cutting and rolling machining,. By contrast,rolling exists obvious advantages, it does not cut off metal fibers and saving in material. Rolling is a chipless machining, the die wear is much less than the cutting maching. Drill rod had gone into mass production and literatures are published covering the continuous rolling long thread processing, but for the drill rod wave shape there's no outward empirical data. this paper direct practical production(,have theoretical value and practical significance.By taking axially feed drive rolling as research object, and taking the drill rode as the carrier of the research object, this paper analyzed the feasibility of forming of drill rode wave thread. By analyzing the relation of the radial rolling force, the tangent rolling force and the axial rolling force, the relation formulas were obtained. According to practical situation, it carried out die designing, parameter conditions preliminarily determine based on theoretical analysis. By the results of simulation, this paper modified the parameters repeatedly to make every indexes tend to be more reasonable in order to realize forming the high quality deformed parts by low-cost and simpler equipment and technical conditions.Through the experiments on two-die thread roller with different rolling force, different amount of feed and different wall thickness, corresponding data were obtained and analyzed. The influences of the wall thickness, the speed of feed of the dies and the rolling force on the rolling process were obtained and the theoretical results were proved. Meanwhile, solutions to the problems of abnormal phenomenon, such as skid, axial draw out, has been proposed.
