With the application of plastic products becoming more and more extensive, extrusion research is attentted increasingly. However, traditional design methods of the die which is the most important parts molding equipment have many disadvantages, or by virtue of experience or inefficient. In view of this, the extrusion die for parametric design study has important practical significance.The analysis research work related to the rheological properties of polymer was carried out, some of the problems impacting the foam extrusion are analyzed. Structure and design parameters of the coat-hanger die flow channel were analyzed, flow channel structure of the foam sheet die is determined, design method and design parameters of the main part of the flow channel are drew, and structure and design parameters are modified to meet the requirements or the applicability of more convenient processing.Parametric design of the flow channels is carried out. Basic parameters of the foam sheet, such as density of the sheet, thickness of the sheet, width of the sheet, yield of the sheet etc, are determined, main parameters of the flow channel,such as area of the entrance, manifold radius, fan zone height, fan-shaped area gap, die gap etc are exported,according to customer's requirements.The three-dimensional parametric model of the flow channel is established by using Pro/E software. Parametric design interface of the flow channel is established by using Pro/Toolkit secondary development tool and VS2005 development tool, taking the basic parameters as the design interface, aim to develop the parametric design system of the flow channel. With the help of the system, change trend of the channel model can be analyzed when basic parameters,such as Yield, melt density, width etc are changed, so that designers can understand the change law of the flow structure which has important significance to design. with the parameters changed. The mold flow of the flow channel is analyzed, especially the distribution of pressure and velocity in the flow channel, based on the actual conditions to simulate fluid flow within the die.The blocking device and the die regulation device for the head are designed based on the analyzed results, so as to acquire the matching extrusion speed and extrusion pressure.The flow channel can be generated automatically,when the basic parameters (sheet information) are enterred, through the flow channel parametric design system. The rational of flow channel can be analysis by using the CAE technology, aim to improve the design efficiency.
