Microporous materials possessing large specific surface areas and pores with molecular dimensions are of interest for applications in gas storage, molecular sieves, catalyst and photonic crystals et al. Significant advances have been made most recently in the microporous organic networks area, up to now, containing Polymers of Intrinsic Microporosity (PIMs) Conjugated Microporous Polymer (CMPs), Hypercrosslinked Polymers (HCPs), Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs), and Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs)。Wholly Aromatic Linear Polymer containing pendant carboxyl groups was synthesized using tetraphenylsilane-containing monomer bis(p-bromophenyl)-bis(p-carboxylphenyl)silane and 4,4'-biphenyldiboronic acid via Suzuki coupling reaction. This polymer has pendant carboxyl groups, and the main chain was builded by wholly aromatic and tetraphenylsilane-containing building block. This polymer can be cross-linked as postpolymerization modification, which provides a feasible route to prepare porous materials. The Atomistic simulations for fragments of wholly aromatic linear polymer was presented, which also tells the main chain was rigid and straight, and the carboxyl group symmetrically positioned on each side of the main chain.Cross-linked Polymer Framework was synthesized using well-defined triangular-like monomers tris(4-bromophenyl)amine(or 1,3,5-tris(4'-bromophenyl)benzene) and 4,4'-diphenylboronic acid via Suzuki coupling reaction. The Atomistic simulations for fragments of this two Cross-linked Polymer Framework present that moleculer fragement was contorted obviously, and there are pores in the crossed-linked network. The structure of the precursors and Polymers was examined by FTIR, 1H NMR, and MS. Thermal behavior and aggregation structure of the polymers is investigated using DSC and XRD respectively.
