Because of increasing world's population and socio-economic development, the water consumption of human beings grows significantly. The available water resources on the earth become more and more scarce due to the pollution of the clean water resources by human activities. The problem of inadequate water supply causes a lot of difficulties and inconveniences to the living of urban residents and enormous losses to industry. Hence, we must accelerate the sustainable utilization of water resources to alleviate the urban water crisis. The recycling of reclaimed water is an important method for reclamation of sewage. It plays a vital role in environment protection, water rescoues protection, water pollution control and the sustainable development of the economy, being of obvious economic, social and environmental benefits.Taking Shandong Economic Management Insititute for instance and referring a lot of case studies of water reuse and new techonolgies, and combing the characteristics of universities' wastewater, the research uses the reversed A2/O process, which combines biological denitrification and phosphorus removal with biofilm process to romove organic compounds, as the core technology and completes the process design and equipment pattern selection of the reclaimed water treatment station. With the operation of the reclaimed water treatment station, the SS of the raw water decreases from 216 mg/L to below 10 mg/L, CODcr declines from 377 mg/L to 50 mg/L with the average removal rate 96%, BOD5 falls from 188 mg/L to 10 mg/L with the average removal rate 89%, ammonia nitrogen drops from 34 mg/L to 5 mg/L with the average removal rate 96%. The discharge indices achieve the water standards for flushing, road cleaning, greening and water usage of man-made lake landscape in "the Reuse of Urban Recycling Water-Water Quality Standard for Urban Miscellaneous Water Consumption" (GB/T 18920-2002). The efflune quality can meet the first level A of the " Discharge standard of pollutants for municipal wastewater treatment plant" (GB 18918-2002)。The results show that: the reversed A2/O process for wasterwater treatment is efficient; it is easy to mange; aerobic biofilm fluidized bed section has a good effect to remove organic matter; the process needs small investment and a small occupied area; The pocess is suitable for the water treatment stations in residential and limited by its geographical location. Universities can select the appropriate reclaimed water treatment designes accourding to different water quality characteristics in order to achieve the reuse of wastewater and enhance economic, social and environmental benefits of universitites.
