In recent years, although conditions of coal mine production safety have been improved significantly, many safety accidents still exist and most of them are caused by fires, floods and gases, which restricts the security and efficient development of the coal industry. This paper studies the development of a kind of spraying material which have fireproofness, waterproofness, antistatic and better gas tightness used to fireproof, impermeable from the inner wall and gases blocking in the coal mine. This paper studies the selection of materials by through reference to a lot of literatures. Moreover, in order to determine the coating components of bottom material and surface material, the paper studies the effect of polymer emulsion, inorganic powders, flame retardants and antistatic filler on coating performances such as drying time, tensile strength, breaking elongation, bond strength, water absorption, flame resistance, antistatic. The results as follows:(1) By comparing the performance indexes of coating materials respectively made from six kinds of polymer emulsion and inorganic powder in the same liquid-powder ratio, the research shows that S400F made from styrene-acrylic emulsion has the best comprehensive performance and with the liquid-powder ratio increasing the surface drying time, complete drying time, breaking elongation and waterproof increase or is improved, while tensile strength, water absorption and flame resistance of S400F reduce or is weaken. The results also show that the best liquid to powder ratio of the bottom material is about 0.2 and that of the surface material is about 0.4~0.5.(2)By comparing the performances of materials made from three kinds of inorganic adhesive and four kinds of inorganic filler, the paper conduct the selection experiments of inorganic binders and inorganic fillers. The results show that the performances of white cement as inorganic binders are best and white cement is suitable for being used as surface material. The better performances and the lower price of ordinary cement make it is suitable for being used as bottom material. The performances of materials are best when the addition amount of cement is 40% to 50% of the total mass. Quartz powder as inorganic filling material is better than talc powder and calcium carbonate and fly ash is suitable for serving as inorganic filling material while the addition is less than 10%.(3) Investigate the effect of flame retardant and antistatic filler on each performance index of materials with styrene-acrylic emulsion S400F, white cement and quartz powder as basal components, adding respectively 4 kinds of flame retardants and a kind of antistatic filler. The results show that ammonium polyphosphate and magnesium hydroxide are not suitable for being used to this material while chlorinated paraffin and aluminum hydroxide do. The flame resistance increases with the addition amount of chlorinated paraffin increasing and the optimal amount is 10%. The addition of aluminum hydroxide have the effect of smoke suppression, but the amount should be less than 10%. The mixing addition of chlorinated paraffin and aluminum hydroxide with the optimal amount being 11% decrease the flaming combustion time and fuming time significantly. The addition of graphite powder with the optimal amount being 15%~20% decreases the surface resistance of the material, making the material have excellent antistatic property.(4) By means of experiments, multifunctional materials, bottom materials (LSH-01) as well as surface materials (LSH-02) with the characteristics of flame-retardant, antistatic, waterproof, non-toxic and rapid consolidation were optimized. Through the check of the authority department, their performance index have met or exceeded the target of similar products.
