Quartz crystal is a kind of photo-electricty crystal with high performance.It has been widely used in the field of piezo-electricity and optical.In this paper. Quartz crystal was synthesized by hydrothermal method. The experiment was carried out in aΦ250mm industry autoclave based on the purification of nutrient,using the sodium hydroxide and sodium carbonate solution as mineralizer and Z-cut seed to grow the crystal.High-quality quartz was obtained by adjusting growth conditions such as minerralizer concentration, baffle open area and fill ratio.The structure and properity of crystal were also characterized.(1) The structure of crystal was verified by XRD analysis;(2) The content of impurity elements was analysed by ICP-AES tests;(3) The characteration of rotation rate, refractive index, optical homogeneity, transmittance, infrared absorption coefficient certified that the crystal possesses excellent optical performance;(4) The striae defects in unilaterally growen quartz were observed and analysed by crossed polarizing stripe detector and spectral photometer. Genetic characterization, temperature variation and pressure variation were the main reasons of forming the striae defects.
