In this paper, two kinds of water and oil repellent finishing agents were synthesized by the fluoro- and silicon-containing monomers. These agents have no ecological risks. Studies were carried on the feeding mode, the reaction temperature, molar ratio of monomer, solvent, the quantity of catalyst on the properties of the product. The optimum conditions are as below: dropwise feeding with 1.5ml/min; Reaction temperature reaches solvents'boiling point. The quantity of catalyst AIBN was 0.6%~0.8% total mass of monomers. The product was characterized and analyzed. The results shown that the products have excellent performances, such as thermal stability, water resistance and solvents resistance.These finishing agents were used on leathers. The effects of fluorine content, finishing agents'usage amount, baking time on the properties such as oil-repellency, water-repellency were explored. Moreover, thermal viscosity and easy-cleaning of finished leather was tested either. The results shown that properties of these finished leathers gave the best results when the dosage of active ingredient was about 12g/m2, then dried at 120℃.for 2h and heat-treated at 160℃.for 3~4h.The water contact angle of the finished leather was 92.9°~104.5°. Their oil-repellent level was about 1.5. Their properties of easy-cleaning and thermal viscosity were favorable. The thermal viscosity temperature is about 150℃. In addition, when the product was used with the hydroxyl silicone together, the costs can be reduced significantly. On the basis of ensuring good performance, the lowest cost can be controlled at 8.2 RMB / m2 or so.These finishing agents were used for finishing on various fabrics. The effects of finishing agents'usage amount, fluorine content, baking time on the properties such as oil-repellency, water-repellency were explored. Moreover, wash-resistance, softness, air-permeation property and moisture permeability of finished fabric was tested either. It was shown that the properties of these fabrics gave the best results when they were treated with a two-dip-and-two-pad process, 1.8% finishing agents'treating bath, then dried at 110℃.for 2min and baked at 160℃.for 1min. The water-repellent level of the finished fabrics was up to 6. The oil-repellent level was about 1.5. The wash-resistance was fine. The air- and moisture-permeability of fabrics was not affected and the softness was improved. Meanwhile, the fabrics were given remarkable easy-care performance. |
