| In this paper, hardness and sliding friction coefficient of the as-cast,relaxed and crystallized Zr41Ti14Cu12.5Ni10Be22.5 bulk metallic glasses were systematically studied. The influence of relaxation and crystallization on the structure of Zr41Ti14Cu12.5Ni10Be22.5 bulk metallic glasses was analyzed by XRD diffraction. The thermal parameters were analyzed by DSC. The hardness was tested by micro hardness tester. The friction coefficient and friction behavior were tested and analyzed by nano-scratching on nano-mechanical testing instrument.Hardness is an important mechanical property of Zr41Ti14Cu12.5Ni10Be22.5 bulk metallic glass, which is closely related with the annealing temperature. The results of the present work showed that, the hardness of Zr41Ti14Cu12.5Ni10Be22.5 bulk metallic glass increased with the increase of annealing temperature, but in the range of 623 K to 643 K,the hardness reduced slightly for some samples, which may be related to the relaxation and the elimination of the internal stress. When the annealing temperature was incresed to 693 K,the average hardness reached the maximum value of Hv 633,which is due to the crystallization of alloy.Friction coefficient is of significance to the movements of two components. Nano-scratching test results showed that the sliding friction coefficient was influenced by the load and the annealing temperature, with the sliding friction increasing with the load and the temperature. |
