People applyed photocatalitic oxidation and biodegradation in the treatment of non-degradation of organic water, and get good results. However, the two methods were separated, so that there lies the problem of efficiency, that means ,to be more efficient, we have to confirm the time of the alone photocatalitic oxidation and alone biodegradation. TiO2 photocatalyst was combined with biofilm as one unit to develop a novel reactor integrated photocatalytic oxidation and biodegradation for phenol treatment.Phenol removal rates were respectively compared under five strategies, that were alone pho-tocatalytic oxidation, , biodegradation after photocatalitic oxidation, photocatalitic oxidation after biodegradation, and simultaneous photocatalitic oxidation and biodegradation, and phenol miner-alization extent was emphasized for comparison.Experimental results indicated that phenol degradation rate was faster under biofilm alone than under photocatalytic oxidation alone, but the mineralization degrees were different, when the concentration of phenol is more than 50mg/L,mineralization degree was lower by both the strategies, with corresponding COD removal rate less than 50 %, but when the concentration of phenol is lower to 10mg/L, the degree of photocatalytic oxidation was higher, with corresponding COD removal rate was about 70 %, while there is no change by biofilm. When photocatalytic oxidation / biodegradation and biodegradation / photocatalytic oxidation were successively com-bined for treatment of phenol(50mg/L), the mineralization degree was enhanced to some extent and corresponding COD removal rate increased to 70% and 60% respectively. The phenol re-moval rate was increased further when reactor integrated photocatalytic oxidation and biodegrada-tion was used for treatment of phenol, with the COD removal rate of over 95% simultaneously. The Integrated photocatalystic oxidation and biodegradation reactor has wide application in the treatment of phenol water according to the experiments.
