| The modification of polypropylene (PP) and its blends with low molecular weight ethylene-propylene copolymer (LMW-EP) was studied in this work. Rheological and mechanical properties of samples before and after LMW-EP 'adding were compared and investigated. There are mainly two parts of our work:1. Study on the modification of PP/PE blends with low molecular weight ethylene-propylene copolymer. The effect of low molecular weight ethylene-propylene copolymer (LMW-EP) on the rheological behavior of PP/PE blends was investigated using an advanced rheometric expansion system (ARES) and HAAKE torque rheometer. Viscoelastic Parameters were figured via a method of Cole-Cole Plot. The results revealed that rheological behavior of PP/PE blends was effectively improved by introducing the LMW-EP.2. Research on the effect of modified Ethylene-Octane Copolymer (POE) on the properties of the blends with Polypropylene (PP). The rheological property of POE was improved by the addition of different amounts of low-molecular weight Ethylene-Propylene Copolymer (LMW-EP). And Ethylene-Octane Copolymer grafted with malefic anhydride (MAH-POE) was added to enhance the compatibility of POE/PP blend. The modified POE was then blended with PR The relationship of mechanical property of PP/POE blend and the amounts of both LMW-EP and MAH-POE was investigated. |
