Copper flat wire is widely used in windings of transformers, large electromotor, generators and electric welding machine, the anti-deformation ability directly determine the quality of the whole electrical equipment. The productions of copper flat wire manufactured by continuous extrusion have high mechanical properties, without anneal process; greatly enhance the production efficiency, and so on. However, the copper flat wires generally have low intensity and could not meet the strength required when used in large-scale electrical equipment winding. It has important theory and actual meaning that researches on increasing the strength of copper flat wire under keeping high conductivity premise.Firstly, the article study the hardening device structure and working principle, deeply analysis the process of tension-bend strengthen based on the theory of elastic-plastic deformation of metallic material. The state and distribution of stress in the deformation zone of copper flat wire were analyzed, and boundary conditions of plastic extension were given. The calculation formulas about neutral layer vertical strain, bending moment, bending force wrap angle were deduced. These formulas derivation from the basic theory can be used for copper flat wire tension enhanced quantitative analysis.Secondly, based on theoretical analysis and practical experience, develop hardened copper flat wire pilot program and verified by tests. The law of hardness of copper flat wire found through the analysis of experimental results was that hardness increase with the increase of depresses; the hardness of all kind of copper increase linear. The strengthen effect of copper flat wire be determined by its thickness rather than the width. These rules have important guiding significance for practical production hardening.Finally, according to the hardening laws and control requirement of hardening device, with PLC programming and KINGVIEW, automatic control of harden device was achieved. The control system using KINGVIEW configuration screen for copper flat wire specifications and strength, and transmission of data calculated PLC control pulse count step-motor complete accordingly, automatic control of harden device was achieved, it is not only enhanced the precision of the strengthening copper, but also facilitated the operation.
