Gravity metal casting is one of the most commonly used process in the production of aluminum alloy casting . However,the metal mould itself will not make collapsibiity, and the gas is not easy to escape ,so casting possibly will be present defects such as cracks,shrinkage.So Therefore, with the use of casting CAD/CAE technologies, we can explore to achieve metal mould design ,scientific manufacture and rapid casting process ,also can provide a theoretical basis to obtain little or no defect casting process and high-quality casting. At the same time the new production cycle is lower,the cost can be down and the production efficinecy is increased.Pump beams/fixed-mobile beams are the key alloy casting in high-speed railway construction.As long-term using in the wild, its internal and external quality requests high. The aim of this issue is to explore topic that can pass both the production of metal mould and casting process accordingly by using casting CAD/CAE technologies.First, complete the three-dimensional model design of the pump beams/fixed-mobile beams with Unigraphics.Then based on preliminary results of CAE, finish the initial casting process design and the design structure of the gravity metal mold. After that, using the powerful simulation capabilities of HuaZhu CAE ,combined with casting experiment ,optimize the structure of mould design, successfully solve possible defects,such as shrinkage ,and get the qualified casting process parameters of the two parts.At last, Taking tilt casting which is adopt in actual production into account,The gas'exclusion in the mould when liquid metal is pouring is simulated by the simulation software of ProCAST.And the result indicated that tilt process can solve well the problem of gas'exclusion from metal mould.
