Paddy field plays an important part in farm land ecology. It has many productive functions and ecological functions. But the paddy ecological system was destructed by pesticide and fertilizer abuse, the rapid growth of urbanization, and the urban expansion which nibbled the paddy wetland ecosystem.This paper selected Chongqing Bishan county which is situated in west of Chongqing as the object and studied on the mountain paddy wetland of Yunwu Mountain located in this county. Firstly, some software such as ArcMap 9.0 was used in dealing with satellite images. Through this method, the images of the utilization situation in West Chongqing, the paddy wetland distributions and squares of Yunwu Mountain were being got out. In Nov. 2007, the author sampled and collected aquatic plants from the paddy field in Feng Lake, three rivers alongside, and Shidangou Qinglong Lake. After the species and statistics analysis in the lab, service function of mountain paddy field ecological system was being evaluated. At last, this paper put forward the protective and sustainable utilization method of paddy wetland.The research results are as follows:①The square of paddy wetland in Yunwu Mountain, West Chongqing district is 35.33km2, equals to 37.49% of the whole West Chongqing wetland square. The wetland distributed in middle and lower regions at the height of 250~450 meter.②The aquatic plants species in Yunwu Mountain is abundant. They are 24 families, 40 genera, and 55 species.③After the divide of 16 families, 32 genera and 44 species seeds belongs, this paper found: from belongs of genera and species, aquatic plants in mountain paddy wetland have close relationship with tropical flora all over the world. And also, they disclose the variety character of aquatic plants from family.④The Shannon index of aquatic plants in mountain paddy wetland at Yunwu Mountain West Chongqing district became larger with the growth of height. While the Simpson index and evenness index is opposite that. The species changes of each transect is about 5~9.⑤The similarity of three transects in paddy wetland of West Chongqing district is very low. And they showed a big difference between each other. Among them, the similarity between Feng Lake and three rivers alongside is a little higher than Feng Lake with Qinglong Lake.⑥The service function of West Chongqing paddy wetland is valuable. It reaches to 88845 thousands each year.⑦Agricultural heritage protection of paddy field and paddy wetland ecotourism development is extremely good to protect and utilize paddy wetland.
