The main components of landfill gas are methane and carbon dioxide. Compared with carbon dioxide, methane has more greenhouse potential. As the fast growth of China's MSW, the threat of LFG to environment has becoming an urgent problem to be solved. Meanwhile, with high heat value and high methane concentration, LFG is a kind of high-value clean fuel. If LFG generated in large amount in landfill, it could be recycled for further utilization, to reach the purpose of greenhouse gas reduction and ease the pressure from social needs for energy. In order to recover LFG, it is necessary to research the production and generation, rate of LFG.The process of LFG generation is very complicated:Waste components, Waste moisture, Waste temperature, Weather conditions(temperature, atmospheric pressure, rainfall), pH value, the time of landfill. The methane release rate of a landfill was studied by using the static chamber technique. Calculating the methane release rate , analysis the influence factor of the methane release rate about different the time of landfill, different Weather conditions(temperature, atmospheric pressure, rainfall) and different season. Find out the relationship of methane release rate about this landfill. The result shows that:(1) The time of landfill obviously impacts the methane release rate of the waste, which reaches the peak 2 years after the garbage has been filled, then begins to decline.(2) Due to the impact of the seasonal changes in temperature, the methane release rate in summer is obviously higher than that in spring.autumn.winter, the main influence factor is temperature and Waste moisture.(3) Handle Arrhenius fornmula establish a equation about release rate of the waste and absolute temperature:The apparent activation energy was 68762.60kJ/mol.(4) The methane release rate also changes greatly during a day, reaching the peak around 11 a.m, declining gradually in the afternoon and reaching the minimum during the midnight to the early morning.(5) Because of the temperature dropping and the moisture increasing in soil after the rain, the methane release rate is decreasing greatly.
