Triazinyl aminostilbene fluorescent whitening agent (FWA for short) can be widely used in many industry fields, such as paper manufacture, textile, leather, paint and detergents and so on because of their excellent properties and moderate price. It plays an important part in many industries of national economy. The domestic study of this type FWA laid strong emphasis on process improvement and industrial production, and products in development have less variety, lowly quality for general-purpose. The top-grade product is less, lack of market competitiveness.Aming at domestic exsisting FWA products have problems such as less variety, low whiteness and limited application range, this paper mainly researches on the structure, composition and characteristics of anionic, amphoteric and mixed-type FWA in order to guide and develop high-performance series of specific products, enrich and improve the theory and methods about FWA. The main research contents and results are as follows:(1) Aming at the exsisting problems of FWA VBL, using cyanuric chloride and DSD acid as main materials, to change different substituents of triazine rings, using of low toxicity and high water-soluble sulfanilic acid replacing of highly toxic chemicals aniline used in VBL production, using a variety of amines, to obtain high solubility, low pollution and a variety of new anion FWA, giving structural characterization, analysising UV absorption, fluorescence emission properties, and exploring the relation of the different amount of FWA, the uptake and dyeing whiteness. The results show that: When using of a lower concentration of FWA, the uptake increases with increasing concentration, and the values of whiteness also increase correspondly, and the speed of increasing is fast; When using of a higher concentration of FWA, the uptake decreased with increasing concentration, the speed of increasing is slow.(2) Aming at the conventional FWA appear sediment easily and have small solubility in the acidic condition because of their weak acidresistivity. So their applied range is limited. Using tertiary amine in the third step substitution, amphoteric FWA containing quaternary ammonium groups are synthesized, giving structural characterization, analysising UV absorption and fluorescence emission properties, exploring the relation of the different amount of FWA, the uptake and dyeing whiteness. The results show that: Compared with the traditional FWA (commodity 220), the acid-resistivity, the combination of fiber and wash fastness of the amphoteric FWA are better, they are more suitable for dyeing in acidic conditions, but they had obvious phenomena of photoinduced isomerization and these light stability were also low.(3) The enhancive efficiency by complex product is hotspot and emphasis of fluorescent brighteners research. Some products have already been successfully excogitated or put into production in a few foreign companies, but few in domestic research. In this paper, the mixed FWA were synthesized by adding an appropriate proportion of two kinds of amino-compounds in the third step substitution at the same time, which have similar pro-nuclear activity of the nitrogen atoms. The results showed that: The mixed FWA were synthesized by the three-step substitution, not only the method is simple, but the products have higher dyeing whiteness and uptake than the corresponding single FWA, they have higher cost-effective, but they had obvious phenomena of photoinduced isomerization and these light stability were also low, therefore, light should be also avoid in their storage.
