The efficiency of oil-field motor is generally low, waste of energy is serious. A new structure of choosing electric motor for the pumping unit is recommended in this thesis. Choose the best motor by calculating their day power consumption. For an oil well, the motor which consumes the lowest power is the most energe-saving one.Based on the motors used by the Ninth Oil-extraction Plant, models for four kinds of motors to calculate the day power consumption is built in this thesis. Types of the model include double-power motor, permanent magnet synchronous motor, three-speed motor and Y series motor. Recently, Y series motor is rarely used for oil-field, while other three kinds of energy-saving motors are used frequently in the Ninth Oil-extraction Plant. In order to observe the operation status of the motors, the proposed models not only calculate the day-power consumption, but also calculate more dynamic parameters, such as current, power, power factor, total loss and efficiency.By comparing the simulation results with the real measured data in oil-field, the error ratios of simulations are lower than 10 percent. The accuracy of the models is satisfied. Then, program the motor models into modules by Borland C++ Builder, combining with the pumping-unit simulation module to construct pumping-unit and motor optimazing and matching software. Based on the outputs of figures and data of this software, dynamic parameters in one cycle in certain oil well status can be obtained. Finally, renewable database for all kinds of motors is built, day power consumption for new motor can be calculated immediately by adding the construction parameters of the new motor.The models built in this thesis cover 80 percents of today's oil-field motor. Moreover, the method of choosing motor has high efficiency and considerable application value.
