Based on the statistical analysis, the SO2 emission volume of China has become the highest in the world for a sequent of years. Trying to treat and control the emission of SO2 is very important for the management of atmosphere pollution and protection of environment. So, how to control the emission of SO2 has become the hot topic in the research of environment protection industry and electric power industry.The paper is aim to have a detail,systematical and operable design and research on the desulfurization project in the Shanghai Wujing No.2 electric power plant.Firstly, based on the technical summary of worldwide desulfurization industry and current status in China, it provides technical foundation for the paper.Secondly, after analyzing the external condition of the project such as the field condition, nature condition and desulfurization island design condition, the main design principle of the project, the outline and disposal of the desulfurization island and the desulfurization process are proposed. It not only compares and analyzes the different process, but also has a deep research on the waste water system.Thirdly, besides the design of main system, the paper also does design and analysis on important subsystem such as thermal automation system,electric system,structure system,heating/ventilation/air condition system,hydraulic system and fire fighting system..Based on the above design and research, the paper emphasizes on the comparison of with/without GGH method in the limestone-plaster moisture desulfurization process. It not only analyzes the process comparion,investment comparison, but also has detail discussion on the gas emission condition,antisepsis design of the chimney and the influence to the environment. After finishing the complete comparion, it decides to use without GGH process in this design.In addition, combined the age character of Knowledge Economy and the practical requirement of the engineering design, this paper introduces the idea of knowledge management and some useful tools to the design of the Electricity plant desulfurization project. These key models and technologies create advantage for the project development.In conclusion, from actual conditions and integrating theory with practice, the paper designs the desulfurization project for the Shanghai Wujing No.2 power plant. As the result of the design and research the paper, it is systematic,hierarchical,operable and innovative. The result of the paper is according to the requirement of economic development and desulfurization industry development of the country.
