The reliable theory has developed a borderline discipline of applied probability, applied mathematical statistics and operational research. Reliability has become a main index of the quality of measuring products and put into extensive use.Oil drilling derrick as one special apparatus of petroleum drilling production, price is costly and safe performance requirement is strict. Therefore, the reliability on oil drilling derrick is studied.Firstly, the mechanics model of the oil derrick is set up and adopts finite element method to analyze in detail about the relevant links in the process of the static force calculation for the derrick. The different combined working conditions of the derrick's static force calculation are set according to the API standard. The load and its distribution of each working condition are analyzed. On the basis of those mentioned above, by postprocessor we got the stress distribution and displacement change.Secondly, after theoretical analysis and deduction, the probabilistic distribution and statistical parameters of the loads and resistances are analyzed. The analysis and research of derrick on adopting the limit state theory and first order-second moment method. The different calculation performances of derrick are analyzed. This paper put forward the idea of reliability calculation for ZJ30/1700DB drilling derrick. On the basis of those mentioned above, the calculation program of reliability index is designed, using MATLAB. The reliability ZJ30/1700DB drilling derrick is researched by structural reliability theory. The reliability indexes of members are evaluated using first order- second moment method when some members have been failed. Putting forward the method of the structural reliability is feasible in theory.Finally, the probabilistic limit state design method based on the reliability theory is researched by the statistical analysis. The paper combines measured strain parameter and the experiment research of bearing capacity. The reliability theory derived from the above is an important part of the reliability evaluating theory of the oil derricks being used. On the basis of those mentioned above, the calculation program of strength and reliability of derrick is designed, using Visual Basic 6.0.
