Apply sphere profile control technique to water-injection of lateral well. Resolve some problem which is important restriction to separate flooding of lateral well, such as complex well structure,downhole equipment being hard to go down and downhole accident being out of control. To introduce operational principle and technique technical advantage of sphere profile control technique, and illustrate performance characteristic of ball sealer. sphere profile control technique is a new and promising water profile control technology. Compare to chemical profile control, the advantages of sphere profile control technique: small workload, low cost, immovability string ,environmental protection, economic and social benefits. This paper introduces the operational principles and performance characteristics of blocking ball, including present situation of technical study from both at home and abroad. Make theoretical analysis of feasibility for sphere profile control in lateral well technique through the mechanical analysis and numerical simulation. Calculate additional resistance under different means of water flooding in lateral well, and point the possibility of injection of small tubing. Physical simulation experiments were carried out by means of setting up realistic model of lateral well. To get rules of ball sealer by analyzing a great quantity of data, and feasibility of sphere profile control technique for lateral wells is approved. The factors that influence effect of ball off such as position of ball injection and flow velocity in well bore is analyzed further. The paper gives means of ball injection, flow velocity and numbers of ball for different position of ball injection and throughput ratio of each layer, and provides reference evidence for oil field production. Under the base of laboratory simulation experiment,Take use the of fluent numerical simulation software, Set up physical model, use Simplec algorithms and discrete phase model, Take numerical simulation for two-dimensional and three-dimensional distribution of flow field and the trajectory of transfer blocking ball. Learn the mechanism of sphere profile control in lateral well technique through the analysis of simulation results verify stratigraphic conditions, injection conditions and tubing position, and under the influence of three factors on the flow field near the borehole and transfer trajectory of sealer ball. Theoretically, through numerical simulation of laboratory experiments the influence of three factors to effects of blankoff is verified. Through both laboratory and numerical simulation, Further learn the transfer situation of sealer ball in wellbore. Conclude the best parameters of most different factors. For different conditions of separate flooding in lateral well, Formulate a reasonable program design of sphere profile control in lateral well technology to guide field application.
