| Steering knuckle is one of the most important car key parts and a safety part. It's quality directly determine the safe of driving, so the requirement to its mechanical performance an structure is very strict. With complex appearance, it is difficult to manufacture steering joint. But as the quantity demanded of knuckle is increasing, the pursuit of the objectives of each company is how to product high quality knuckle in highly active and energy-saving method.In the paper, HF6700 steering knuckle of light trucks is the object to study, the main research contents are as follows:1. Analyzed the structure of knuckle and gave an forming craft that is extrusion in hydraulic press and forging in friction press. Specific craft is baiting→heat up in the medium frequency induction furnace→extrusion performing→finish-forging. And designed the die structure of that craft.2. A three-dimensional model for forming about knuckle was established. Then the mold-ability of steering knuckle was analyzed and the process of extrusion performing and forging was simulated using FEM software to observe the flow rule and forming situation. In that craft, a check was done between results of physics experiment and simulated.3. After generalized the experience of first designed forming craft, combined methods of free forging production, a new forming process was given, i.e. baiting→heat up in the medium frequency induction furnace→extrusion performing→pre-forging→finish-forging.4. The flow rule in die impression and regularities of distribution for forming force, stress field, strain field and temperature field were all analyzed after simulation on process of extrusion, pro-forging and finish-forging.5. The influence of main forming parameter on metal flow and forming force in extrusion is analyzed, and then optimized and determined the forming parameter. |
