The heavy rail universal line of Rail&Beam factory is a mill, of which machine equipments are ushered from the Germany company of SMS Meer and electricity equipments are ushered from the company of Germany Siemens. The base automation control system of the rolling mill is mainly constituted of S7-400 PLC universal of the company of Siemens. For the system without open heavy data communication, we can't carry on on-line record and analyze the real mass universalion data. It brings inconvenience to the new product development, the precision improvement of heavy rail rolling and parameter optimization.This paper presents the process to build a basic automation control system of outward data platform which takes universal line of heavy rail in Rail&Beam factory for research background and bases on basic automation, process control level, then sets up the distributed C/S mode network based on carrying out the communication of TCP/IP. At the same time, we carry on the research towards the result of achieving reliability monitor on-line of parameters in process of heavy rail universalion-line and parameter optimization of rolling which influence the accuracy of cross-section size of rail.The main study of the paper is as follows:1. According to the principle of rolling, we simulate and analyzes the process of the heavy rail rolling by the software Marc,then we can obtain the main technical parameters that impact the specifications of heavy rail.When these parameters are used for monitoring, it makes these monitoring parameters theoretical and reliable.2. We establish the new communication network structure of the system based on the original automation system of the heavy rail universal line. We workout the inventory table of collecting the signal according to rolling therory and the result of simulation and form the communication datasheet of S7 400. We carried out the controller of S7 400 PLC outward of TCP/IP heavy communication connect by hardware configure and software programming and database interface in occupying the low communication burden.3. Based on basical automation system of heavy rail universal line, the effectively communication function is developed. Configuring the data collecting station ibaPDA and the communication interface of ibaPDA, a set of valid data collecting and reliability monitoring software are build up The system brings convenience to technician on spot for developing the new universals, analyzing and ameliorating the state of rolling.4. Communication with PLC of the ultrasonic inspection center of rail, including network connection, network acceptance, data analysis, database operations and so on is developed. Data of cross dimensional accuracy of rail section is collected. Combination with the analysis on the heavy rail rolling process of data which obtains the main parameters which affect the accuracy of rail rolling cross-section size, bring forward the reliability recommendations about the improvement the accuracy of rail cross-section size, speed up the universalion efficiency, improve the quality of the rail.Because the TCS system of the company Siemens and PDA system of the company ibaAG are applied extensively in the automation realms, such as steel industry and the papermaking industry...etc., the successful experience of this topic is also worthy of applying in other universal lines.Besides, it's possible to carry on the further research and optimizing of the model about the hole design of the rail rolling produce process, the AGC mode, the temperature control model and so on ,based on building up data collection system on the project.
