Substrate electrode,key part on accumulator of car,has complicated structure and is hard to deform.The traditional processing methods are casting and die-casting, but there are several disadvantages,such as:inefficiency,inferior quality, environmental pollution.So a new process must be adopted to manufacture this part.This paper researches on the cold extrusion and deformation of these shape parts. And taking the substrate electrode as the research subject,the numerical simulation of the forming process is studied,which expend the application of cold extrusion and improve the technological level.In this research a kind of substrate electrode was introduced,whose model was made by the CAD.The forming process of substrate electrode was simulated by FEM software.The transformations of fields during the process of metal forming were investigated,the metallic flow was described.And analyzed tow kinds of stocks,and then chosen the stock with optimum shape.Due to the complex shape if we adopt common extrusion mold,it's hard to form the substrate electrode.So it's needed to design a new mold to manufacture this part. The core is the locking mechanism,Use the 3D modeling software to model the locking mechanism parts,and then assembled them together.The locking location of the rigid mechanism is computed by using mechanical principle,and then the locking of the elastic mechanism is computed by using ANSYS.The law of strain and stress of the part are gotten.According to this,we can conclude when and where is the most dangerous place of the locking mechanism.The model which is imported ADAMS from PRO/E is kinetics analyzed.According to the results from ADAMS kinetics analysis,the laws of kinetics of locking mechanism are gotten.From the research,it is proved that the cold extrusion is viable for the substrate electrode.And the most appropriate shape of stock is cylindrical.The forming pressure is about 100KN.Finally using this mechanism has feasibility and actuality.
