In recent years,with economy increasing rapidly,natural resources have been over consumed and environment has been contaminated as well.Chinese power industry is a large energy consumption.The top of the carbon emissions is power plant boiler,which is the sector with the most energy-saving,potential emission reduction and a greater potential for carbon emissions trading.Research on CDM methodologies about transforming power plant boiler has strong social values and economic interests.In this paper,the transformation of the power plant boiler was researched.Then the calculation methods of emission reductions based on the combustion theory were obtained. The unit steam emission factor was defined.The carbon emission model of power plant boiler has been built.Its calculation module has been developed.So the core development of CDM methodologies about transforming power plant boiler has been completed.Finally,it took a boiler transformation project of a power plant in Hebei Province for example.The calculation and analysis result showed that the calculation methods were accurate and reliable.It provides the scientific basis and technological support for developers and investors of this type CDM, with considerable potential greenhouse gas emission reduction and environmental benefits.
