Research And Development Of Organofluorine Coatings Using On Car Engine Gasket

With the increasing development of automotive industry in the past decades,more and more research works are focused on the fields like exalting engine performance, prolonging usage time,environmental friendly and energy saving.The media inside the engine is air,the mixture of fuel and lubricant.When the engine works,it is in the mode of high temperature,high pressure and irregular high frequency vibration.All these ask for the sealed gasket of gas engine is with excellent sealed performance,and with good high temperature resistance,chemical medium corrosion resistance and fuel resistance.Before the advent of stainless gasket,asbestos materials were widely used on car engine gasket.However,the performace of asbestos gasket is poor,and asbestos materials would induce the pollution of the environment.Many countries have restricted the use of asbestos gasket,which was replaced by stainless gasket coated with nitrile rubber or fluorubber.In China,the fluorubber used in gasket is mainly dependant on exporting.It is critical to develop home-made fluorubber due to the expensive price and inconvenient transport of exporting fluorubber.Based on the research background and the development trend of fluorubber,the research interest of this work focused in the reserchment and development of home-made fluorubber, which involving full-coating and partial-coating fluorubber.The results of each part are listed as follows:(1) Through analyzing the Japanese exported full-coating fluorubber,we obtained the essential information of coating.According to this,we developed a new type full-coating fluorubber used on gasket.(2) Through analyzing the Japanese exported partial-coating fluorubber,we obtained the essential information of coating.According to this,we developed a new type partial-coating fluorubber used on gasket.
