With the development of economy, culture and politics in modern society, costume designers have been paying unprecedented attention to the emotional and human understanding of design content. As a result, the diversity of popular styles integrates costume into arts even more closely. It is not uncommon that costume inspired by other forms of art directly transplants aesthetic features of shape, color and decoration and indirectly selects accidental effects from other forms of art.Especially numerous contents and forms related to architecture appear in the costume design, but it by no means inserts the forms and components of architecture as the early works of costume did.Instead, there emerge the wave of Victoria retro-style,Arab-style fashion,Bohemian and Gypsy style, minimalist and futuristic wave and so on.Architectural language from all nationalities at all periods can be easily identified from these pluralistic fashion design style. From the macro point of view of the relationship between costume and architecture, both hold an extremely important position in the field of designing art studies, which belong to the main subjects of art of design. Both bear a three-dimensional thinking pattern with a profound historical memory. As far as costume and architecture are concerned, the design of space is carried out concerning human bodies. In addition, both exert a protective effect on human bodies, the modeling and decoration of which ought to meet the functionality...In short, there exist so many similarities. With great admiration for their similarities and curiosity of richness of various art forms of western costume,I conducted the corresponding comparison and analysis of different styles of costume and architecture at different periods in western society, summing up their aesthetic formation and interior relation in the course of learning from each other concerning different art forms with the same styles. It is hoped that my study may provide a theoretical basis for better understanding of the connotations of western costume art,and theoretical reference and directions for considering questions for those designers adopting a wide range of artistic elements for fashion design.
