Study On Heavy-Duty Coating System For Harbor Machinery

The main purpose of this paper is to solve the problems of large-scale port machinery products anti-corrosion,combined with the author's practical experience in the field of port machinery corrosion in recent years,analyzed several typical heavy-duty port machinery coating system,discussed some of the main issues in the coating construction of large-scale port machinery products,and obtained a final solution.China coastal area of the environmental factors greatly influenced the process of atmospheric corrosion of port facilities steel structures.According to ISO 12944《Corrosion Protection of Steel Structures by Protective Paint Systems—Environmental Category》,account of the special water temperature,geology,weather conditions of the sea area of China ports,the ports / terminals which have been constructed are in the coastal corrosive environment of ISO12944 C4～C5,it's belong to a very serious corrosive environment.The owner working conditions of port machinery equipment are also an important factor which affects the corrosion process.For example,the steel structure in wave splash zone should use a better overall performance matching paint which has good water resistance,strong adhesion between layers,alternating wet and dry-resistant, resistant to mechanical friction,etc.By carrying out protective coating of the steel structure of the port machinery equipment,we should achieve the following two basic purposes at least:firstly,preventing or delaying the steel structure from damaging by the coastal atmospheric corrosion,to ensure and extend the protective life;secondly, decorating on the steel structure,play the role of landscaping and signs.The effective service life of paint coatings of the steel structure of new large-scale port machinery equipment,at present the international community should meet the general average of at least 10 years.However,the first prerequisite is the coating construction according with the quality standards,and the other is the normal maintenance for the coating during the entire process of building for use.Therefore,the painting of modern port machinery equipment specially emphasis on pre-painted surface treatment,selecting high-quality heavy-duty paint,correctly designing coating matching,and rigorous construction management and maintenance in the process of operating,to ensure the coating life.The paper designs a reasonable coating formula for the primer(including the inorganic zinc-rich primer,epoxy closed primer,epoxy zinc-rich primer),the intermediate paint(the epoxy MIO intermediate paint),the topcoat(including the polyurethane topcoat,aliphatic polyurethane topcoat,fluorocarbon topcoat),and tests each product formula,work out the corresponding construction technology,discusses some of the main issues in the coating construction,and obtains a final solution.A comprehensive performance evaluation for the several coating system,shows that the matching coating system designed applying to the anti-corrosion coating for the port machinery products.
