The Aerated Biological Filter (BAF) is a simple, high efficient, low consumptive for municipal sewage treatment correspond to the situation of china. BAF has been widely concerned in recent years in municipal wastewater treatment for its advantages of high treatment efficiency and low land use. It has been developed rapidly in last ten years, to the mall-and-medium-sized towns in China, BAF has a widely applications prospects. This paper focuses on the experimental study of the removal rate of COD,NH3-N,TP and pH change of influent and effluent. Also compared its removal rate of COD,NH3-N,TP and pH change of influent and effluent use the removal rate of COD,NH3-N,TP and pH change of influent and effluent of plastic stuffing BAF.The experimental results showed that the removal rate of COD of mid aerated shuck,broken shuck,plastic stuffing BAF is 81%-90%,80%-86%,77%-85% respectively when hydraulic stay time (HRT) is 12-4 hours.The removal rate of COD of shuck,broken shuck,plastic stuffing BAF is 65.7%,69.8%,67.9% respectively when HRT is 2 hours. The removal rate of COD of bottom aerated shuck,broken shuck,plastic stuffing BAF is 76.2%,75.4%,72.8% respectively when HRT is 4 hours, the removal rate of COD is 73.0%,73.3%,69.3% respectively when HRT is 2 hours. The removal rate of NH3-N of mid aerated shuck,broken shuck comes up to 97% ,plastic stuffing BAF comes up to 90% when hydraulic stay time (HRT) is 12-4 hours. The removal rate of NH3-N of shuck,broken shuck,plastic stuffing BAF is 47.2%,68.3%,65.1% respectively when HRT is 2 hours.All the removal rate of NH3-N of bottom aerated shuck,broken shuck,plastic stuffing BAF comes up to 94% when HRT is 4 hours, the removal rate of NH3-N is 55.5%,89.8%,33.7% respectively when HRT is 2 hours. During the study, TP removal is not very well, all the removal rate of TP less than 30%.The shuck stuffing BAF has more ability on repellent pH load. The pH of effluent changes between 7.4-8.3.At the same time, dynamic model of the bottom aerated shuck stuffing BAF treating municipal wastewater is deduced according to the experimental data.
