Research On The Ecological System Service Value In Pingshuo Mining Area

The evaluation of ecological system service has become the research focus and frontier among ecological economics, environmental economics etc. Ecosystem service includes the necessary eco-products and ecological functions ensuring the life quality. Mining area is the system strongly affected by human activities, and exploiting has caused three influences: with the increased exploitation of mining, it plays an important role in promoting the local economy; meanwhile, it also brings the great press on environment, such as soil erosion, environmental deterioration and so on; however, the projects of rehabilitation can significantly improve the destroyed situation and maintain the sustainable development. So, research on the different types of ecological system service in mining area has become more and more important.This research takes Pingshuo as a case study, and applies marketing value method, cost method and mirror project method to study the ecological system service value changes triggered by land utilization changes during 1985 to 2005, with the results indicating that the ecological value fell from 321.71 million RMB to 303.48 RMB during 1985 to 1990, slowly rose to 311.09 million RMB during 1990 to 2005. Rehabilitation led to a good ecological profit, which improved the ecological environment, increased the ecological service value, and mitigated the impact to the surface. The research has also set 2 situations, which with reclamation and without reclamation. The result showed, under the condition of unrehabilitation, the ecosystem service values decrease sharply, and to 26401.6 million RMB in 2005; while under the condition of rehabilitation, the total values increases insistently to 49835.55 million RMB. It is can concluded that the reclamation and ecological reconstruction project play an important role in the sustainable development of mining area. Selecting land-use change, population, economy, exploitation and polices as direct or indirect factors, the research analyses the change of ecological service values in mining area, and expects to provide useful inspiration for healthy development.Because of the ecosystem internal characters, the current changes of ecosystem may not be observed in the next few decades. As a result, for attaining the enough ecological service and welfare, it is essential to take a variety of development models and implement sustainable and comprehensive development policies in the short, medium and long-term time scales, which emphasize both the economic and focus on ecology, resources, environment, general construction, to better promote the population, resources, environment and economy in harmony with sustainable development.
