Structural radar absorbing material is a kind of bearing multiple function composite material. This material is widely used in military and civilian fields. The mechanical property especially impact strength which directly affects the application of the structural radar absorbing material is very important.Four kinds of composite materials were designed according to the shape, structure, work condition and processing characteristics of products, and the specimens were prepared by hand-pasting and hot-pressing technics. The preparing process goes as follows: firstly, daubing resin mixed with solidifying agent on mold, then laying a sheet of pre-clipped fiber braid on it, which was followed by pressing with brush, roller, or drawknife. After resin infiltrated in braid uniformly, daubing resin mixer again and laying another sheet of fiber braid, repeating above operation until getting the desired thickness. Then heating the specimens, making them solidified under a certain of pressure (hot-pressing molding), at last the composite material products were obtained after mold stripping.Hopkinson apparatus was used to carry on the dynamic compression testing, and the influence of property was got.1.The influence of impact direction. The strength of perpendicular direction to fiber is higher than the parallel direction's;2. The influence of absorbing agent. The specimen which ZnO radar absorbing particles is added demonstrates high strength than others and the specimen which ZnO radar absorbing particles is added evenly demonstrates the highest strength. The strength of specimen whose fiber is subject to Ni-plating depresses only a little. In this study, The dynamic compression strength of structural radar absorbing material reaches up to 631MPa. This lay a foundation for the widely application of structural radar absorbing materials.
