The reuse of the galvanization sludge and oil sludge, contained Cr and oil, produced from the mechanical manufacture industry was the main object of this research. The mixed sludge that composed by galvanization sludge and oil sludge, clay, cinder, and RM adhesive were put together according to a certain proportion, and then burn into bricks. The experiments of making bricks in lab as well as in a factory for testing the heavy metal leaching rate and the quality of bricks were carried out in the study. The method of using the mixed sludge at the most degree was set up through analysis of the data of the compressive strength and heavy metal leaching rate, and also the best allocated proportion of raw materials was figure out. The technical conditions and the mechanism of bricks were also discussed in this research. The results indicated that when the percentage of mixed sludge is below 20% and the percentage of cinder is below 10%, or the percentage of mixed sludge is below 25% and the percentage of cinder is below 5%, the compressive strength of bricks were able to satisfy the intensity rank standard of MU10, GB/T 5101-2003. When the percentage of RM adhesive was 4%, the bricks had the best compressive strength. Considered from the environmental protection angle, the leaching density of Cr(â…¥) could satisfied the standard of water environment protection. So this method of dealing with this kind of sludge was safe and feasible. The environment risk assessment during the entire process of making bricks was carried out. After some corresponding measures of environment risk guard, the environment risk of making bricks with mixed sludge is on the level which we could receive. Therefore, considered of the factors of economy and environment, the best allocated proportion of raw materials was as follows: the mixed sludge: cinder: clay: RM adhesive=20:5:71:4.By making bricks with the galvanization sludge and sludge that contains oil, the toxic sludge was converted into resources. The environment risk of this craft is on the level which we could control after taking some safety measures. The waste from the entire producing process would not do harm to environment. This craft could handle the galvanization sludge and the sludge contains oil safely and effectively. Moreover, the bricks that made from the sludge had also achieved the correlated technical quality and security standard. This research had some innovation in the production process, the technology was practical and feasible, the design was reasonable, the operation was simple and convenient, and making sense to the actual production.
