The compatibility of multifunctional cross-linking agent MCA-306 with the single component of multi-component ultra-fine pigment dispersions was discussed. The effect of MCA-306 on the particle size,viscosities, Zeta potential, centrifugal stability, freeze-thaw stability, high-temperature stability, and storage stability of the pigment dispersions was discussed. The results showed that MCA-306 was well compatible with ultra-fine pigment dispersions. It has little effect on the particle size,Zeta potential,freeze-thaw stability, high-temperature stability, and storage stability of the pigment dispersions. They can improve the viscosity and centrifugal stability of dispersions.The surface topography of the film crosslinked by MCA-306 on the cotton fabric was examined by SEM. The elongation at break, tensile-strength, water resisting property of the film crosslinked by adhensive and MCA-306 was discussed. The results showed that the elongation at break of the film which crosslinked by MCA-306 was hight. They can form compact, smooth, continuous and toughness film on the surface of cotton fabric, and increase 1-1.5 grade of the dry rocking fastness and one grade of the wet rocking fastness of the cotton fabric padded dyeing with dispersions.The research on the K/S value and rocking fastness of ink-jet printing with MCA-306 added on dispersions was carried out. The result showed that MCA-306 has the acceptable effect on the fluency of ink-jet printing and increase 1-1.5 grade of the dry rocking fastness and 0.5 grade of the wet rocking fastness on the colour of light magenta and light cyan. The effect to the rocking fastness of magenta,cyan,yellow and black which were ink-jet printed on the cotton fabric was little.
