mCMC-PEG-CS bipolar membrane was prepared by a paste method.A blend of sodium carboxymethyl cellubse/plyethylene glycol(CMC/PEG) was taken as the cation layer and a blend of chitosan plyethylene glycol(CS/PEG) was taken as the anion layer,which were modified by Fe3+ and glutaraldehyde(GA) as linking reagents,respectively. mCMC-PEG-CS bipolar membrane was used as a separator in the electrolysis cell to produce thioglycolic acid(TGA).The experiment results showed that the current efficiency was up to 74.69%and the average current efficiency was reach to 54.02%.The double aldehyde starch(DAS) was indirectly electro-produced in a double chambered electrolytic cell with Nation membrane as the diaphragm and Pb as an anode.The current efficiency was over 50%during CNaBr= 2%,CH2SO4= 0.05mol/L,Wstarch=10%in the anodic solution;CH2SO4=0.05 mol/L in the cathodic solution at electrolysis current density 15mA/cm2.HPAM-CPAM bipolar membrane was prepared after modifying PAM.IR spectrum indicated that the bipolar membrane contains -NH(CH2CH2)2+ and-COO- functional groups in CPAM membrane and HPAM membrane.The experiment results showed that HPAM-CPAM bipolar membrane was stable in acid solution.HPAM-CPAM bipolar membrane was used as a separator in the electrolysis cell to electro-generating DAS.The current efficiency was up to 69.3%and the average current efficiency was reach to 41.79%.
