The species of predominant plants survived in Pb-Zn mining site in Chenzhou and antimony mining site in Lengshuijiang were filtrated, respectively,by making a field investigation. The area of sample collection and control area without pollution were selected based on investigation of present situation that of soil and plant contaminated by heavy metals and environmental factors. The samples collection was representative and season timely and collected from different plants with a classification of root, shoot, leaf and fruit. The samples were collected to study the characteristic of plants gathering heavymetal in mining site a ccoroling to the rules of presentive, typical and timely. The present condition of soil and plant contaminated by heavymetals in a non-ferrousmining site was systematically investigated. The result showed that the soil was serious lean and contaminatedwith a exremely high heavy metal's concentration of Pb 764.74 mg/kg,Cd 4.10 mg/kg,Zn 372.75 mg/kg and Cu 95. 57mg/kg respectively due to the Pb2Znmining tailings andminetoxic water pollution. Nine predominant plant species were found successfully settling on contaminated soil, but the contents of Pb,Zn,Cu and Cd in these plants did all not reach the critical content of hyperaccumulator. The biomass of above - ground part and ability of heavy metals up to transport of Dendranthema indicum L.Des Moul,Cyperus m ichelianus L.Link and M iscanthus floridulus Labill.Warb.ex Schum.et Laut.were higher than other plant species, and the contents of some heavymetals in stems and leaves above mentioned of three specieswere higher than that in roots, which indicating that these species had certain potential ability to remediate contaminated soil. The study on the absorption and accumulation of heavy metals,Cu,Cd,Pb,Zn,Cr and Cb by 19 plant species around antimony Mining Area in Xi Kuangshan, showed that the metals accumulation by plants differed with plant species, their parts, and kinds of metals.Artemisia Indica Willd and Cynodon Dactylon had higher capability of absorbing and accumulating Cu,and the Raphanus sativus,Herba Artemisiae Annuae,Clinopodium umbrosum and Vicia faba Linn et.had higher capability of absorbing and accumulating Cd.Roegneria ciliaris showed a high accumulation abilitiy for Pb.and the Brassica campestris ssp,Sedum sarmentosum and Raphanus sativus exhibited a high capability of absorbing and accumulating Zn.It also has been found that some plant species having high enriching capability of Cr included Capsellabursa Pastoriss,Boehmeria nivea and Poa annua et,while the plant species such as the:Boehmeria nive,Cynodon Dactylon,Herba Artemisiae Annuae,Vicia faba Linn and Triticum aestivum had high enriching abilities of Sb,especially the Cynodon Dactylo, the bioaccumulation coefficient of its aerial part and underground part reached 6.15 and 5.41 respectively.
