Controlling pH value of copper wastewater effectively and discharging wastewater with no pollutant have always been key research contents of environmental protection and energy-saving for every country. Based on overview of study background and significance of treatment of copper wastewater and current situation and advances at home and abroad, pH process model of copper wastewater and control problem of pH value and Cu2+ concentration were explored deeply. Focusing on automatic control system of copper wastewater, control strategy fitting for pH control was lucubrated and presented.After analysis of running condition of pH process, mathematic model of pH process was founded by recursive least-squares estimation with exponential forgetting that is one method of parameter identification. Intelligent prediction control strategy of pH control was studied. Generalized predictive control based on piecewise linearization was designed and demonstrated via theoretical simulation. After that, pH simulation control experimental system was structured and hardware platform of simulation experimental control system was built. Software of data collection, transmission, receiving, pH predictive control, experimental data storage and display were developed and finished. Results of experiment indicated that predictive controller for pH process is able to control pH value of copper wastewater effectively. Combining copper wastewater treatment control system of certain circuit limited company in Shenzhen, pH control for copper wastewater was investigated and primary results were gained. Presented control system is of great value in engineering. Finally, according to problem of high power waste caused by pump head time-varying and low efficient running of the group pump in wastewater discharge system, adaptive genetic algorithm control strategy subject to avoidance of wastewater spillover was proposed. Results of simulation and experiment indicated that power saving effect is fine by making use of adaptive genetic algorithm to optimize pumps efficiency.
