Extraction Of Beeswax Alcohol From Beeswax And Its Preparation

Peptic ulcer mainly refers to the chronic ulcers occurred in the stomach and duodenum. It's a frequently-occurring and common disease, the incidence is 10~12% of the world's population. Peptic ulcer is also a stubborn disease, and the recurrence rate reachs to 70%. Abexol is a mixture of fatty alcohols extracted from beeswax and is used for the treatment of peptic ulcer.It has been developed by Laboratory Dalmer, and has been registered in Cuba. By present, there is no related production approved was obtained in China. China is a big producer of bee products, and the resource of beeswax is extremely rich, In this work, beeswax alcohols from beeswax were developed foe the preparation of an anti-peptic ulcer drug.(1)Physical methods were used to identify primarily the quality of beewax, The commercial crude beewax was purified and then the determinations of melting point and GC were applied to identify whether the beewax is dopped.(2)The preparation of melissyl alcohol was investigated. Four processes like Saponification (medium: aqueous, ethanol), Saponification with calcification etc were evaluated. The time for saponification, the solvent and the time for abstraction were studied.(3)The quality of Beeswax alcohol was studied by IR, GC, GC-MS and chemical titration. The GC method for the determinination of the main components was established. It was found that beewax alcohol contains tetracosanol, hexacosanol, octacosanol, triacontanol, dotriacontanol and also contains long-chain fatty acids and saturated hydrocarbons. The chemical fifration method for the determination of total alcohol is relatively easy and suitable for the control of the process.(4)The preparation of beewax alcohol tablet was primarily investigated.
