With the open pit mine being continuous explored, slope stability problem becomes very important, which influences the entire mine's safety of production, personnel and equipments. Thus, keeping slope stability has very significant meaning. Bang Chui Mountain Iron Mine is taken for an example to assess slope stability. This dissertation uses ANSYS and FLAC methods to assess slope safety during the course of slope stress and strain analysis, and calculate safety parameters by using strength reduction technology and differential method. ANSYS simulates the rock slope's basic composed relation respectively, namely, DengKen E-B Model and ideal elastic-plasticity generalized Mises Model. ANSYS simulates rock unit's stress and strain relation by ideal elastic-plasticity Mohr-Coulomb Model. This paper has summarized the current situation and the trend studied on slope stability in our country and abroad; summarized slope stability analysis methods and strength reduction technology; expounded some influencing parameters of slope stability and protection measurement; introduced the definitions of finite element method(ANSYS) and finite difference method; stated the definition of Artificial Neural Net work(ANN) and its application in slope stability analysis; and probed into the above mentioned methods' application in open pit slope stability analysis. In the course of analysis on Bang Chui Mountain slope stability; this paper uses ANSYS method to simulate the real slope by building up several typical two-dimension models, whose results provide the slope safety parameters. At the same time, the results of FLAC method can be acted as comparisons. This text also establishes a BP ANN to analysis the safety of slope. The results have indicated that: the appraisal methods above are suitable for the slope stability analysis, and the appraisal results of Analysis and FLAC method have consistency. The stability condition of the open pit is good, including A-A safety factor 0.98, and slope of other area needs to be taken some measures, such as cutting down slope, reducing load and setting drain.
