With the improving of environmental protectional consciousness in recent years, the higher cost and serious pollution of traditional techniques for softening was not being satisfied with the need of customers. So searching for a new way not only making up the disadvantages, but also improving the pliability of the fabrics evidently will be important.Especially, with the enzyme, plasma and been used in textile widely, the above technology has been successfully applied in after treatment of fabrics. So in this paper, we will introduce a new softened treatment, combining pretreatment methods, such as biological enzyme, plasma and ultrasonic. We will discuss the conditioning mechanism, the technological process and conditions of each pretreatmen, study on the effect of different processing conditions on the pliancy of fabric. Meanwhile other physical performances were also improved to certain degree. At first, the changes of bending rigidity and bending hysteresis moment are analyzied stressly, meanwhile other capabilities are also tested, such as dry crease recovery angle, breaking strength, elongation at break and wicking height. At first MCT softener is used to treat yarn-dyed cotton fabric solely. It is indicated by the experiments that When treated in 50g/L MCT, 1g/L penetrant JFC, two dipping and rolling of pick-up 85%,100℃dry for 3min, the optimum technology parameters were obtained.Comparing with blank sample, warp and weft bending rigidity of the sample treated have been reduced by 51.5% and 33.8% respectively, while warp and weft bending hysteresis moment have been reduced by 55.1% and 31.8%. Both wrinkle recovery angle and drape coefficient have been improved, the former increase to 162.6°, the latter reduced to 54.7%.However, effect of solo MCT softener finish is not very ideal. On this basis, comparison of cellulase , plasma and ultrasonic pretreatments,we are looking forward to gain more pliancy effect. Scan electron microscope (SEM) is used to show the changes on cotton surface. Comparation among different processes of fininshing cellulase-treated cotton fabric with softener shows that the optimal condition is 2.5%(o.w.f)cellulase, bath ratio 1:20, pH value 4.5,temperature 45℃, 60 min, followed by softening. Except for 6.7% strengh reduction, samples treated by this way is endowed with improved performance, Such as decreases of 56.7% and 36.1% in warp and weft bending rigidity, decreases of 59.1% and 38.2% in warp and weft bending hysteresis moment, a decrease of 20.6% in drape coefficient, an increase of 36.7% in wrinkle recover angle. All different processes of finishing plasma and cellulase-treated cotton fabric with softener experiments indicate that the optimal condition of plasma is 50Pa, 150W, 60s, followed by cellulase-treated and softening. In this condition, the effect is obvious because of decrease of 57.1% and 37.3% in warp and weft bending rigidity, decrease of 71.1% and 54.5% in warp and weft bending hysteresis moment.Meanwhile, other performaces are also improved, drape coefficient reduce in 24.9%, wrinkle recover angle increases in 53.7%. Whereas, 18.1% strengh reduction has greatly impact on wearability. What is more, finishing process is too complicated. None but compound treatment of ultrasonic with cellulose confers the much better effect. The scheme of one bath process of 59KHz ultrasonic and 2.5%(o.w.f) cellulase, 45℃, 50min followed by soft finishing turn to be the best. All tests show that warp and weft bending rigidity of the sample treated are reduced by 58.1% and 37.5% respectively, warp and weft bending hysteresis moment are reduced by 69.8% and 53.8%, while recovery angle is improved by 60o,up to 188.2°and drape coefficient is minished by 24.3%, and other performances are improved to certain degree. Besides, SEM pictures show that certain damage is brought to fiber treated by these compound treatment, and the trauma on samples treated by ultrasonic is much more tender. In addition, compared with the effects of fabric treated by AIRO soft machine, effects of ultrasonic and cellulase are equivalent.
