The deformation process from blank to pipe would be three steps:crimping, U-forming and O-forming. After that, the groove will be changed according different products specification. It is a qustion whether the effect on welding groove shape from plastic deformation and the groove shape after deforming can adapt to the welding or not. During the forming process, the end tab located in the pipe end, which is inevitable effected by end-effect. How does it effect? Whether it can satisfy welding technical requirement? that is another problem to solve.Base on large-scale nonliner finite element software MSC.MARC, The 2D FEM analazing model of the groove and the 3D FEM analazing model of the open angle of the end tab of UOE pipe were established, then the essay gives out the basic methods to research the deformation of these.In this paper, the deformation process of the groove and the end tab were analyzed. By a large number of numerical sumulation, the paper shows the effect of parameters in each step on the groove shape after the same step,then the influence of initial groove shape was to be considered. After that, we find out the main factors effect the groove shape, and get the regular of each parameter. Then,the main factors that influence the open angle of the end tab is found, and the regular of that is gained finally.
