Research And Development On Digital Control System Of Large Calibre MF Induction Heating Pipe Bender

Heating pipe bender is the necessary manufacturing equipment for pipeline building. By the way of heating locally and imposing torque on steel pipe, it can manufacture elbow products, which are essential parts of oil and gas pipelines.With increasing demands for energy, oil and gas pipelines, especially state-level key pipeline project are in dire need of high-capacity pipe, which has large caliber and can subject high pressure as to pipe bender load bigger and technology stricter. To manufacturing the pipe, machining parameters such as speed, temperature, angle and pre-deformation must be controlled precisely. To meeting the special requirements, we research and develop a digital control system of large calibre MF induction heating pipe bender, which can collect, control, and record machining parameters with the high level of automation and informatization.The paper introduces the development and present status of MF induction heating pipe bender control system, researches critical problems of MF induction heating pipe bender control system, and analysis the process and function of large calibre MF induction heating pipe bender. With digital control system composing of fieldbus technology, the paper solves several technical difficulties such as tailstock speed control, heating power control, heating temperature distribution control, bending angle control, and pipe pre-deformation control.The system is running in good condition in actual manufacturing, and its performance and technical parameters meet the design requirements perfectly. East gas and other key national projects have used it, while second-line for the West-East Gas Pipeline, China and Russia, Central Asia and other major pipeline construction have been provided this technical support. And the system has become a vital equipment for our major energy pipelines building with good social benefits.
