Luanhe-Tianjin water diversion project has greatly ensured the economic development and people's normal life of Tianjin for more than twenty years. In order to protect the water quality, improve the ecological environment and ensure well condition of water supply, the water sources protection project of Luanhe-Tianjin water diversion was carried out in 2002. The water quality protection, which is one part of the construction of the water resources management system in the water sources protection project, is studied in this thesis.Firstly, based on the water environment investigation along the line of the water diversion project, some problem is analyzed and summarized, such as eutrophication, incomplete control on water pollution sources,etc. Based on pollution load data in past years, quadratic exponential smoothing model is used to forecast the input pollution load of Yuqiao reservoir in 2007. Water environmental capacity model is also established to make gross control to the main pollutant of the reservoir. A cut in pollutant burden of TP and TN is calculated with that and distributed to each pollution source including non-point source pollution in reason. Secondly, according to the demand of gross control, measures of water quality protection are advanced to solve the water environment problems along the line. Environmental engineering, ecological engineering and management measures can be used in water pollution sources control and ecology restoration. This thesis also gives some advice to treat water pollution accident along the line. Finally, the concept of water environment security is put for to give scientific gist for the long-term work of water quality protection. The index system of water environment security evaluation is established in terms of pollution sources, water quality and ecology. Two-level fuzzy comprehensive assessment model is used to evaluate status of water environment security along the line in 2006.
