With the development and improvement of the industrial technology, the space curved surface inspection is widely used in the area of mechanical manufacture, automobile industry, aviation industry and so on. The vanes of the motors, the wings of the aircrafts and all kinds of the moulds are all need to be measured by this method. Not only advanced manufacturing technology but also precise efficient measurement is needed in order to get high quality of the curved surface. The technology of the computer aided on-line inspection is composed of the technology of geometric error parameter measurement and identification for NC machine tools, error parameter measurement and identification for a probe, soft-wear error compensation, computer, inspection, sensor, information and so on,and it is widely used in the industrial production for its virtues of high precision and efficiency, low cost, high reliability, strong ability of disturbance resistance and suiting for industrial area. The technology of space curved surface on-line inspection will enrich and improve the technology of on-line inspection for NC machine tools and bring good economic and social effect. On the base of improving the curved surface inspecting accuracy and efficiency, this paper studies deeply on the key technology of the curved surface inspection. The main work of this paper is showed as follows:1. First, composition, NC machine tool on-line inspection's work fundament, error compensation and identification of the computer aided on-line inspection are studied, which establish theory foundation for curved surface inspection research;2. The discussion of the technology of the curved surface inspection: Micro-plane method is presented in order to improve the inspecting precision and efficiency;3. Study the route of the inspection: such as the concept, the method of planning inspecting route, the principle and the common step of it. The inspecting route should be shortest and avoid to bumping into the part;4. Establish the mathematical model of the curved-surface on the base of the non-uniform B-splines and the least square fitting algorithm theory;5. Establish the error evaluation mathematical model of the space curved surface contour, and analyze the inspecting error by the least square-fitting algorithm;6. The feasibility of the micro-plane method is validated by experiments.
