Because of having orderly pore compared with microporous molecular sieve, the inorganic mesoporous material can be the adsorption or catalytically reaction place of big molecule. Furthermore its potential usage in big molecule separation and heavy oil catalysts make mesoporous material becoming the hot spot of research. Using non-ionic surfactant, the Stucky of the California University synthesized a new kind of molecular sieves SBA-n. Because of its good structure function, excellent hydrothermal stability, steady framework structure, easily polished interior surface and certain wall thickness with easily in various domains, such as chemical industry, environment energy, living creature technique, adsorption-separation, catalyst and light, electric, magnetism, etc. But the pore size limited SBA-15 in using in the adsorption field. One part of our experiment is to modify the SBA-15 by CVD method, and extending the application of SBA-15 in separating CH4 from N2 .We used the benzene to control the pore size of SBA-15 by CVD method, and investigated the influence of reaction time, the content of benzene in the process of modification. Our experiment laid the foundation for further research in modification inorganic mesoporous material.Phenolic resin has higher carbon content; lower price and creates pores easier than other materials which can be used to produce active carbon, and the active carbon produced from phenolic resin has great adsorption ability. Compared with the ordinary ways, the active carbon which made from the template method has broad pore size distribution, but template method is too expensive to produce active carbon in industry. So we used irregular template method to produce active carbon from phenolic resin, and investigated how the carbonization time, ratio of temperature and different kind of phenolic resin influence the producing active carbon.From the analysis of productions, we can draw the conclusion that the active carbon produced from phenolic resin phase A has board pore size distribution, low pore volume and good carbon yield, the best reaction situation for different ratio of CaO to phenolic resin phase A is different. The active carbon produced from phenolic resin phase B has small carbon yield, but the pore size distribution and pore volume are better than the active carbon made from phenolic resin phase A. It is hopeful to produce active carbon with low price and outstanding capabilities with phenolic resin phase B.
