Sulfur contained compounds can normally produce high concentration hydrogen sulfide acid gas while being processing, conversion and refining in petroleum processing and natural gas production plant. It is required either by environment protection or resource utilization to recover hydrogen sulfide gas. The recovery of hydrogen sulfide gas experienced Claus method of producing sulfur, dry process sulfuric acid and wet process sulfuric acid, etc. The WSA technology from Topsoe in Denmark present the most advanced process up to date.Under the background of WSA technology of SINOPEC Changling Branch Co. Ltd,this paper analysed and optimized the operation of WSA plant and the controlling of pipe perforation and production quality which effect on the continuous running.The burning furnace,reactor and condenser were studied,and the result showed that the optimum air-flux-ratios was 10:1,the optimum production load was 80%, and the optimum condenser inlet temperature was 290-295℃.The treatment capacity had met the design specification with large elasticity of operation.The H2SO4 product concentraition level stabilized on 98%,the superheated steam of 3.5MPa could be obtained directly as bypass product and the energy recovery was much rate was much higher than Claus plant.Through experiment and analyse,the results showed that the sulfate pipe perforation was effected by the sulfate temperature,the velocity and pipe material.The problem of sulfate pipe perforation could be solved by cleaning the scaling of condenser filtration otter board to reduce the sulfate condensation temperature to 40℃through, changing the pipe diameter fromφ45 toφ89 to reduced the flow rate to 1.0m/s,and using aluminium-inserted cot as pipe material.The results also showed that the sulfate production quality was effected by the sulfate temperature and the nitrogen oxides concentration. The problem of the sulfate production quality becoming worse could be resolved by reducing the sulfate temperature and the nitrogen oxides concentration to 600ppm or even lower.After optimizing, the pipe perforation improved and the sulfate production quality could met the the need of requirement.The problems appearing in the test run were studied,and optimizing solutions of them were put forward .The solutions has been applied in production, by means of optimizing operation, achieved a favorable affection,which can fully utilize sulfur resource or protect environment effectively, achieved perfect social benefit and economic benefit.
